As reported on the Wales Online website, a gambling addict stole more than £5,000 from the gym she was employed by, after asking customers to pay in cash.

Kathryn MacDonald, asked three victims to pay via cash, when, ordinarily, memberships were expected to be paid by card.

As reported on the Essex Police website, a woman stole more than £200,000 from the charity she worked for as trusted office manager.

Isabella George – jailed for three years withdrew large amounts of money from the charity’s account over nearly six years.

Worker Sold Stolen Pumps On eBay

According to the Warrington Guardian website, a trusted supervisor at a pump supplier stole stock worth £51,000 and used their packaging and delivery system to sell the goods on eBay.

Between November 2021 and March 2024, Ewa Bieniak swindled the business out of £194,509.66.

The Mirror website reports that the UK is in the grip of a wave of ‘Kamikaze’ shoplifting – as brazen thieves snatch goods in plain sight with little fear of consequences.

Over half (56%) of retail workers say they’ve witnessed so-called Kamikaze shoplifting – blatant, in-your-face theft.

DPD Employee Jailed

The Northants Police website reports that a former DPD employee has been jailed for stealing parcels containing expensive Apple and Samsung mobile phones.

Daniel Kane Carter was arrested and pleaded guilty to one count of theft, and was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
