Worker Stole To Pay Back Stolen Cash

According to the Wales Online website, a worker stole almost £70,000 from his firm – to try and pay back the hundreds of thousands he had stolen from his previous employer.

In order to pay off the stolen money – believed to be in the region of £250,000 – Mayur Gaglani defrauded PSE 2 of £69,544.65 using false invoices and the company’s credit card.

Woman Stole £100k For ‘Loan Sharks’

As reported on the Yorkshire Live website, a woman stole almost £100,000 from her employer, telling him she owed the money to loan sharks.

Farida Mughal worked for an estate agent in Dewsbury where she submitted fake invoices purportedly for maintenance works at the company’s 360 properties.

Shop Owner Starts ‘Wall Of Shame’

The BBC News website reports that some shopkeepers in the West Midlands have resorted to posting CCTV footage on social media, complaining police are not doing enough trace shoplifting suspects.

One has even started a “wall of shame” by putting up images of alleged offenders outside his shop, as offences increased by 29% over the past two years.

Thief Banned From Every Boots In UK

According to the Express website, Emma Berry, the Boots pharmacy chain has banned a woman, Emma Berry, who struggles with addiction to crack cocaine, from all its stores across the UK.

This comes after Berry repeatedly targeted and stole cosmetics from a Boots shop in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, a total of eight times.

Stealing Their Way Out Of CoL Crisis

The Novara Media website reports that shoplifters have told them that the cost of living [CoL] crisis had pushed them to steal more of life’s essentials.

Last year, food industry magazine The Grocer reported that shoplifting levels – especially of everyday essentials – were “off the charts”, and prices have only climbed since then.
