Town Clerk Stole £200k
The Wales Online website reports that a clerk at a Welsh town council defrauded her employer of at least £200,000, writing more than 120 cheques to herself over a five-year period.
Margaret Buckley pleaded guilty to dishonestly abusing her position when she was expected to safeguard the council’s financial interests.
Cafe Manager Stole £3,700
The North Wales Live website reports that a trusted manager and cook at a family-run café stole £3,700 from the safe, after a bank holiday weekend when the takings were high.
A court heard that it was the fourth time that Mathew Bennett had been found guilty of stealing from an employer.
