The Boston Standard reports that a man who owed money to loan sharks stole more than £3,000 from his employer and faked a robbery to cover what he had done.

Steve Beeson, who ran New Horizon Amusements, claimed that the shop had been robbed of £3,100 and acid had been thrown in his face as he opened up.

The BBC News website reports that a business analyst has been jailed for stealing more than £700,000 from his employer, Oxford Bus Company.

As one of the staff responsible for recording money on to a computer system once it had been counted, Colin Smart took the sum between May 2010 and March 2017.

As reported in the Liverpool Echo, a pair of brazen shoplifters left court while their trial was on a lunch break – to go on another thieving spree at shops nearby.
