Builder With Fake PhDs Employed By NHS

The Plymouth Herald reports that a ‘Walter Mitty’ who faked qualifications to scoop two top NHS jobs and earned over £1 million – despite being a builder – has been jailed for two years.

Jon Andrewes called himself ‘doctor’ and faked PhDs on his CV in his successful to become chairman of two NHS trusts and a hospice, earning himself a six figure salary.

Thief Caught When Reporting A Crime

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, a thief who stole £5,000-worth of electrical kit was busted by police when he reported being a victim of fraud himself.

Over four days in January, Robert Henderson-Rhodes stole two Apple MacBook Pros and an iPhone 6 from students who were studying in Northumbria University’s library.

Shoplifting Duo Banned From Merseyside

The Liverpool Echo reports that Two shoplifters have been banned from every store in Merseyside and told not to enter Liverpool city centre after carrying out a string of thefts.

Gemma Price and Jonathan Cody have been given two-year Criminal Behaviour Orders which state they must not enter a large, pre-defined area.

Taxi Firm Worker Stole £86,000

As reported in the Braintree & Witham Times, a man has been sentenced to a year in jail after stealing more than £86,000 from a former employer.

Daren Howarth admitted theft whilst working as a booking agent in the office of Excellent Connections Limited, a taxi company in Braintree.

Warehouse Manager In eBay Scam

The Hull Daily Mail reports that trusted warehouse manager stole leather goods worth almost £25,000 from his employer before giving them to a woman to sell on eBay.

Many of Mark Johnson’s stolen goods were handed to Helen Parsons, who then used her children’s eBay accounts to sell them online.
