Employers Not Screening International Workers
According to the People Management website, almost half of organisations are failing to screen potential employees from outside the UK, according to a new survey.
Severe penalties are levied should an employee turn out to be in the country illegally, but 40% of employers said they did not screen international hires, compared to 78% stating that they carried out checks on domestic staff.

The Leicester Mercury reports that a shoplifter stole a £1,000 haul of condoms from a city centre shop, along with chocolate and alcohol from other stores.
Mohammed Mousavifard stole the condoms from Boots and targeted Poundland and Sainsbury’s for the chocolate and alcohol.
