Thieves Stole ‘Because Of Brexit’
The Westmoreland Gazette website reports that two women stole groceries worth nearly £200 from a supermarket then blamed the offence on Brexit and supply chain issues.
Elizabeth Taylor and Catherine Griffiths attempted to steal from Morrisons in Barrow, concealing items under black bins bags, before paying for some items at the checkout.

According to the Teesside Live website, a thief who is “addicted” to shoplifting embarked on another crime spree just days after telling a judge she was ‘turning her life around’.
Leanne Stapleton told a court in September that she was “actually tired of it all now”, but committed further offences while on police and court bail.

The BBC News website reports that a woman from Dublin stole two Mulberry handbags worth a total of £1,890 from a House Of Fraser store in Belfast in July 2016.
Catherine Gaffney also shoplifted a further three Mulberry handbags worth a total of £3,000 in November of the same year
