Police Officer Sacked For Shoplifting

According to the Independent website, a police officer has been sacked and barred from the professions after being caught stealing £75-worth of food from a branch of Sainsbury’s.

When the constable – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was stopped by security staff at the Sainsbury’s in Bristol, he told them: “I was being a bit cheeky and thought I would chance it”.

Thief Stole Bizarre Range Of Items

The Staffordshire Live website reports that a bottle of orange squash and 11 jars of coffee were among the bizarre items selected by a thief during a shoplifting spree around Uttoxeter.

Andrew Sharpin also took bottles of washing-up liquid and Aptimel baby milk, £75-worth of chocolates, Persil and wine mainly over a three-day period.

Female Gang Stole £4k Of Perfume

The Birmingham Live website reports that a Romanian shoplifting gang travelled up and down the country to steal £4,000 worth of perfume from shops in an organised operation.

A court was told that the gang visited busy shopping venues where they blatantly stole large quantities of expensive scent from large stores.

The Ipswich Star website reports that a shoplifter has been jailed after repeatedly stealing vacuum cleaners from B&M stores.

James Baker was identified on CCTV footage as being responsible for stealing five vacuums from B&M – along with a speaker worth £100.

Thief Stole After Leaving Methadone On Bus

The Swindon Advertiser website reports that a drug addict turned to shoplifting after leaving his methadone prescription on the bus.

A court heard that Michael McDonagh felt compelled to commit the thefts to fund his habit, stealing meat, deodorant and other items from the Co-op, Poundland and Lidl.

Thief Stole Trolley-loads From M&S

The Leicestershire Live website reports that a thief filled trolleys with food, drink and clothes in three separate shoplifting raids on Marks & Spencer.

Richard McLean made off with two stolen loads – the first worth approximately £300 – but was caught the third time as he tried to leave with £140-worth of clothes.
