Cleaner Stole Sat-Navs Worth £80,000

According to the Burton Mail, almost £80,000 worth of sat-navs were stolen from Derbyshire car giant Toyota and then sold on eBay by a cleaner.

Juris Jakimjonoks systematically took the systems from the shelves as he walked from the office to the restaurant as part of his cleaning round and admitted he was “motivated by greed”.

Bike Shop Worker Stole £19k

SomersetLive reports that a ‘greedy’ teenager stole bikes and biking equipment when he was working for The Bicycle Chain in Bridgwater.

Alex Long started work at the shop in July 2015, and suspicions were raised when the shop’s owner noticed that a bike had gone missing.

Manager Stole £17k To Woo ‘Lover’

As reported in the Oxford Mail, a hotel night manager stole nearly £17,000 of his employer’s money in an attempt to woo a man he wanted to be his lover.

Deanardo Blacklaws worked at the Oxford Belfry Hotel in Milton Common for two months in 2016 and, within days of starting the role, began an elaborate scheme to charm a man he was ‘besotted’ with.

Thieves Swapped iPhones For Fakes

As reported in The Mail, a gang of three men distracted staff at a Carphone Warehouse store, removing security devices fitted to Apple iPhones and swapped them with dummy phones.

Carlisle Crown Court was told that the gang then repeated the crime at a Vodafone store in the same shopping centre on the same day.

The specially-commissioned research saw 21.7% of Welsh workers admitting they deliberately fibbed during an interview, closely followed by the Scots with 20.8%.

Shoplifter Couldn’t Remember Stealing

Lincolnshire Live reports that a woman could not remember stealing four trolleyloads full of shopping.

Magistrates decided to clear Tammy Ann Chapman of all four charges because she was on medication and claimed she could not remember any of the thefts from the Tesco Extra and Asda supermarkets.
