The Express & Star website reports that a TK Maxx employee turned to crime to repay £20,000 of debts run up on credit cards and loans to fund his gambling addiction.

Bosses monitored the movements of Rafal Matysiak on internal CCTV for six days after a tip-off and watched him take goods, after vaulting over an empty pallet into the racking area where spare stock was kept.

Lorry Driver Stole £45k From Employer

The Rugby Advertiser reports that a lorry driver stole goods worth around £45,000 by making unauthorised stops and taking packages from the back of his vehicle.

Piotr Durat admitted stealing the items in October and November 2017, whilst working for a business based near Rugby.

‘Ugly Models’ Agency Worker Stole £21k

The Evening Standard website reports that an accountant for an alternative modelling agency fleeced the firm out of more than £21,000 by forging her boss’s signature.

In a bid to clear her debts, Charlotte Harris stole money meant to be paid to models by writing cheques to herself and siphoned off funds into her mother’s bank account.

Thief Who Stole £20k To Repay £10

The Telegraph and Argus website reports that a bakery worker stole £20,000 from her employer but only has to repay £10 of her ill-gotten gains.

Joan Whitrick, who stole the money from Just Desserts in Shipley, had been told by a judge in January that the cash would have to be paid back, “even if it takes you the rest of your days to do it”.

The Argus website reports that a teacher has been sacked and banned from teaching after lying about his degree on his CV.

Craig Bozic, a maths teacher for nearly a year at King’s School in Hove, said he had a 2.1 degree to get a job.

Book Shop Cashier Stole £11,000

According to the Chronicle Live website, a cashier stole more than £11,000 from Waterstone’s using the book store’s own loyalty cards.

Barry McCann swindled cash from his employer using cards which gave customers £10 off their purchase if they collected 10 stamps on a paper card.
