Dispenser Stole 3,000 Sleeping Pills

According to the Cambridgeshire Constabulary website, a pharmacist dispenser stole thousands of sleeping tablets from his employer over a three-month period.

Khurram Abbas was found to have placed orders for 110 boxes (3,080 tablets) of temazepam – a form of sleeping tablet and class C prescription-only drug.

20-Year High For Shoplifting Cases

The Sky News website reports that shoplifting offences in England and Wales have soared to the highest level in 20 years.

The Office for National Statistics found some 402,482 offences were recorded by police in the year to September 2023 – up by almost a third (32%) on the previous 12 months.

Gran Stole £11k From Vet Clinic

As reported on the Wales Online website, a grandmother stole more than £11,000 from her veterinary clinic employers and used a colleague’s bank account to hide the fraud.

Hellen Simmonds falsified refunds and payments on the company’s accounts system, enabling her to steal a total of £11,417.

The Express website reports that high street retailer Boots has been forced to take “vital” products off its shelves in a bid to deter gangs. as Britain is gripped by soaring shoplifting rates.

Experts say the thieves have their eye on baby formula and other “hot products” to sell on to dodgy outlets in the UK or buyers abroad.

Beckham Battles Counterfeiters

According to The Sun website, David Beckham’s business team is waging war on counterfeiters who sell fake copies of his designer clothing, fragrances and accessories.

Paperwork shows the fakes are sold on sites including Amazon, eBay and Etsy by firms or individuals based in China or elsewhere in Asia.

Pensioner Sold Fake Handbags

The Belfast Telegraph website reports that a pensioner admitted 13 charges of possessing and selling hundreds of fake designer handbags.

During a raid at Anne Roseleen Darcy’s house, a room was found filled with counterfeit handbags, belts, shoes and purses, plus £80,000-worth of diamonds.
