Serial Thief Stole £1,200

The Swindon Advertiser website reports that a serial thief shoplifted more than £1,200 worth of items – ranging from baby milk to lamb joints – from high street retailers over a six-month period.

London Stores Robbed Every 15 Mins

The My London website reports that shoplifting in London has become so prolific that traders are being robbed once every 15 minutes.

The number of offences in Soho has doubled in one year and across the capital, there were 35,531 shoplifting cases reported in the last 12 months – 97 per day.

Jail For Lying Doctor

According to the Independent website, a doctor killed a mother-of-three after botching a routine procedure during a hospital appointment to take samples.

Dr Isyaka Mamman – jailed for three years – was 81 at the time and had already been suspended for lying about his age.

The Bournemouth Daily Echo website reports that a woman defrauded her employer out of thousands of pounds and made bomb hoax calls to her office.

Angela Gurung worked in the financial department at retirement housing giant McCarthy Stone when she committed the offences.

Boss To Sue Thieving Employee

The Kent Online website reports that a company boss is to sue a former employee who almost brought his company to its knees.

Selena Cronin was convicted of taking £33,274 from the company, after hiding the fact that had previously been given a police caution for a £20,000 fraud.

Finance Director Stole £62k

The Okehampton Times website reports that a finance director swindled £62,000 from the Dartmoor hotel where he worked and spent it on ‘life’s little luxuries’.

Alex Stevens used his company credit card to fraudulently withdraw thousands of pounds from cashpoints and pay his personal bills.
