The Metro website reports that Tanya Liddle, who has been dubbed Britain’s most prolific shoplifter, has been convicted for the 171st time.

Liddle has been arrested almost 400 times and is so well known among shopkeepers in Newcastle she wears an array of hats to disguise herself.

The Metro website reports how a couple who own a Post Office and convenience store have adopted AI technology to address the shoplifting epidemic that was costing them £26,000 per year.
